Shane, I am working on a new design that uses a simple double pitch roof with a 7:12 pitch. I will use a metal roof, so I don't think there is any reason to go to a steeper pitch. The roof overhang will be 36 inches at the eaves measured horizontally, and 36 inches at the gable ends.
