It is definitely a manufacture design problem. WebJan 24, 2015 · 1,821 Posts. #7 · Jan 21, 2015. Rear shock making noise at the top of the stroke means you have air in the damper. I've seen a bunch of these brand-new on bikes with this problem. The CTD/rebound will work after you get past the air and into the oil but it's not ideal. I would say you need to return it right away (the shock, not the bike).
