WebbI finally figured out that KASA switches are recognized as switches not lights. To solve this just go to the device in the Alexa app, select the gear icon in the upper right corner, select the type , and change it to light. Now I can walk into any room with an Alexa device, say “turn on the light”, and it turns on the lights in that rooms group. The way my outside garage lights are wired for the 3-way switch, there is a white or neutral wire that is accessable from within the garage, but not in the house, so the Kasa switch set will not work.
