She turned her eye to the underprivileged, depicting women, children, the working class and the suffering they endured in Germany’s tumultuous, war-torn early 20th century. WebbHowever, her subjects demand our attention because of the artistic labour she put into them. This talk will explore Kollwitz’s art labour by focusing on her innovative and ever-evolving printmaking practice, a practice deeply embedded in experimentation and the German art theory of her time. delivered by Art Historian Sarah Jaffray.
